Over the past 10 years, PFB has completed renovation projects installing three CT Scanners at Bethesda North Hospital. Due to increased inpatient demand, the Bethesda North Radiology Department needed to add an additional CT Scanner. When TriHealth had the opportunity to purchase a Siemens Sensation 10 from a sports medicine practice on a nearby campus, PFB Architects provided the required coordination and planning measures to renovate an existing MRI Room shell to a CT Scanner Procedure Room. This project required coordination with vendors for the CT unit, rooftop chiller unit, and review of the adjacent MRI magnetic fields to verify location of the unit would be within acceptable limits.

The design of the CT Scan Room provides ample circulation space for patients on stretchers or in wheelchairs. As this room is remote from the other CT Scan Rooms, located within the MRI Suite, the casework within the room was designed to provide ample storage and stock space for contrast, supplies, and linens. Additionally, multiple lighting levels were provided, controlled by the Radiologist from the CT control room.
